Flu Vaccinations

We have received lots of enquiries about flu vaccinations. Please note that receptionists will not be booking flu appointments but we will be advising all eligible patients by letter or by phone. We have now used all our stocks of flu vaccination and we are waiting for more to be delivered. We will contact any eligible patients who have not been vaccinated as soon as these are available. If you have not heard from us by 13th November and believe you are eligible please give us a call.

We will offer the vaccination to all our eligible patients those over 65 and those who have a medical condition which puts them more at risk if they catch flu. The Government has extended the flu vaccination this year to patients who have been advised to shield during the Covid outbreak. Some of these patients will already be in our at risk category but we are awaiting guidance from the Government on how we obtain sufficient vaccines to offer vaccination to this additional category of patients. Additionally we are advised to wait for further Government advice on the plan to offer vaccinations to patients aged 50-64. We understand that this programme will not take place until November at the earliest. We will keep you updated when we receive further guidance.

School aged children will be given the flu vaccination at school and will not be able to attend the surgery for this. Vaccinations for those children aged 4 – 18 who have a medical condition that requires them to have a different vaccination and children aged 2-3 years can have their vaccination at the surgery and arrangements will be communicated to parents of eligible children for the vaccinations to be given by one of our practice nurses.

Patient Registration

DURING COVID 19

Please use the online registration forms and do not attend the surgery.  We will also require an email with the following identifiers:

  1. proof of address, eg council tax, household bill, driving license etc; and
  2. a picture/copy of your signature.

Please send this additional information to our email gp.g82120@nhs.net.  If you have a copy of previous prescribed medications it would be helpful to send this.

If you do not have access to an email then please post/put through our letterbox (near dispensary) the necessary ID.

We are currently registering new patients

  • If you would like to register with the Practice, you will need to complete a registration form.  You can pick one up from Reception or complete an online pre-registration form - see link below.  Please avoid registering at the Practice between 8am and 10am if at all possible.
  • You need to bring the completed forms to Reception along with one piece of photo ID (or birth certificate for a child) per person and one proof of address per family - this should preferably be government official documentation or a bank or credit card statement but a phone or utility bill will also suffice.
  • If you are within our practice area when you have completed this process will we be able to register you as a permanent patient. You will be allocated to a named doctor.  We would encourage you to see this doctor whenever possible in the interests of continuity of care.
  • If you live more than a mile from your nearest pharmacy we may be able to dispense medication to you from our Dispensary.
  • If you need an urgent appointment you must bring your forms to the surgery at least 30 minutes prior to the appointment so everything can be checked and the registration process completed. If, in exceptional circumstances, no one is available to register you we will check the documentation and register you as a temporary resident until the formalities can be completed.
